As the height of summer, July’s arguably the hottest month of the year, and it’s that’s definitely true when it comes to Netflix shows. This summer, Netflix isn’t cutting corners with its new release shows, as a handful of fan-favorites return with new seasons.

In June, Manifest kicked off the month with its final episodes, and Never Have I Ever soon followed with its own final season. Other highlights of June also included Black Mirror season 6 and the first volume of The Witcher season 3. You might still be watching these shows, but make room on your watch list.

July brings back The Witcher season 3 for its second volume, while The Lincoln Lawyer kicks off its own two-part new season. Meanwhile, we’ll be taking a trip to Serenity, South Carolina in Sweet Magnolias season 3 and welcoming brand-new animated, reality, documentary, and comedy series.

The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 part 1

Watch! Mickey Haller returns for another round of on-the-road lawyering in The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 part 1. After the show’s hit debut last spring, Netflix quickly renewed the legal thriller for a second season, which will be split in two halves between July and August. The first part of five episodes makes its debut on July 6 with fresh faces and new cases.

Sweet Magnolias season 3

Watch! It’s been a long wait since February 2022, but Sweet Magnolias season 3 finally premieres on July 20. The new season picks up in the aftermath of the explosive season 2 finale cliffhangers, which found Maddie’s relationship in a public display of disfunction (to say the least) and Helen’s caught in a triangle. And that’s all while Dana Sue felt the wrath of someone from their past.

Captain Fall

Skip! If you’re a fan of adult animated sitcoms, then you will definitely want to check out Captain Fall, a new Netflix original featuring the voices of Jason Ritter, Christopher Meloni, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Adam Devine, and more. However, if you’re not quite a fan of adult animation, you might not want to board Captain Fall’s ship when the series premieres on July 28.

The Witcher season 3 vol. 2

Watch! Following the drop of the first five episodes of The Witcher season 3 in June, the last three episodes of Henry Cavill’s final run on the series premiere on July 27. Obviously, for fans of the hit fantasy series, season 3 vol. 2 is a must watch. The season finale will answer all of our questions and possibly set the stage for the passing of the torch in season 4.

Survival of the Thickest

Watch! In need of some laughs? Netflix launches the new comedy series Survival of the Thickest from the hilarious comedian, actress, and The Circle host Michelle Buteau. The romantic comedy series is based on Buteau’s book of the same name and premieres on July 13. We definitely recommend checking this one out for comedy fans.

Hack My Home

Skip! These days, home renovation shows are a dime a dozen, and if you’re a fan of the genre, then you probably already have your favorites. On July 7, Netflix drops Hack My Home, a new home renovation series that finds a group of experts helping homeowners expand their crammed spaces with smart space-saving hacks. Skip this one if you’re not big on renovation shows.

Quarterback

Watch! Sports documentaries and documentary series are always a hit on Netflix, and the streaming service introduces its latest effort in July. Quarterback centers on NFL quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota throughout the 2022 season. For any football fan, Quarterback is a must-watch when the eight-episode series debuts on July 12.
