Sports fanatics, where are you all at? Netflix has announced its first collaboration with the NFL, and it’s a new docuseries titled Quarterback. I’m sure you want to know all about this upcoming show, and luckily for you, we’ve got everything you need to know right here.

Netflix has made its mark in producing sports-related content. We’ve recently seen the release of sports shows like Formula 1: Drive to Survive, Break Point and Full Swing, and they’ve all done well for themselves on the streamer. Next up is Quarterback, followed by a docuseries about the 2022 Tour de France, an untitled series about the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and a sports docuseries titled Heart of Invictus, about the competitors in The Invictus Games. Sports fans have so much to look forward to in 2023!

Quarterback is a sports series produced by NFL Films, Omaha Productions, and the newly formed 2PM Productions (Patrick Mahomes). Peyton Manning is an executive producer for his production company Omaha Productions. In addition, Ross Ketover, Pat Kelleher, and Keith Cossrow are executive producers for NFL Films.

Quarterback release date

Netflix will release the first season of the football documentary series Quarterback on Wednesday, July 12. Check out the trailer for the series in the video below!

Quarterback cast

The show will follow three top quarterbacks in the NFL, such as Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings, and Marcus Mariota of the Atlanta Falcons. Also, we can probably expect to see appearances from their families, friends, coaches, and teammates.

Here’s what the sports docuseries will be about via Netflix press release:

"It will take a unique look at each season, told through the lens of NFL quarterbacks. This year, the series features exclusive, unprecedented access to Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota from the beginning of the 2022 season to its conclusion, following them on and off the field, from inside the huddle with teammates to inside their homes with their families.The upcoming show will feature behind-the-scenes access to some of the biggest moments of the season, as Mahomes set an NFL record for total offense on his way to winning the league and Super Bowl MVP awards; Cousins engineered the greatest comeback in NFL history and led the Minnesota Vikings to an NFC North Division title; and Mariota took over as the starting quarterback in his first season with the Atlanta Falcons."

How many episodes is Quarterback?

The episode count for Quarterback will be eight episodes in the first season. According to Netflix, each episode will be about 45 minutes in length, which is about the length of a normal television series. Being so, it will be a quick binge for football fans.
