Best Netflix series endings: Devi chooses [SPOILER] in Never Have I Ever

SPOILERS AHEAD FROM THE NEVER HAVE I EVER SERIES FINALE!

The fourth and final season of Never Have I Ever dropped on June 8 on Netflix and brought Devi’s high school journey to a hilarious and chaotic close. After four seasons of personal, romantic, and academic ups and downs, Devi celebrated her senior year and made some tough decisions on what she wants to do with her young adulthood… and with whom she wants to spend it.

In Never Have I Ever season 4, Devi and Ben reel from their decision to sleep together. The incident sends them in separate directions, basically making them enemies once more. However, throughout the season, even after they date other people, Devi and Ben continue to feel the pull back toward each other. Ultimately, Devi and Ben end up together.

Beyond the romantic answers provided in the series finale, the future of each character is decided: Devi goes to Princeton, Ben goes to Columbia, Paxton goes back to ASU, Fabiola goes to Howard, Eleanor works with Trent as a filmmaker, Kamala takes the job in Baltimore, and Nalini ends up with Margot’s dad, Andres. Everyone lands where they were meant to for their next chapter.

Never Have I Ever stayed true to its essence and focus until the very end, tying up every loose end and never once losing a drop of its amazing sense of humor. The series comes full circle with Devi’s story, as a girl overcome with grief and doubt who comes into her own with grace and confidence. And the series finale’s apt game of “never have I ever” ties it all together as one of the best Netflix series endings. We’re going to miss this world and these crazy characters!
