Netflix shows canceled: Teenage Bounty Hunters

Ever since the cancellation of Teenage Bounty Hunters in October 2020, we have talked about it at length, dubbing it one of the most underrated Netflix shows of 2020. If you watched the teen comedy-drama, then you know that’s simply the truth. The charming and endearingly promising series had little chance to thrive amid a crowded race, amounting a single season run.
Teenage Bounty Hunters centers on twin sisters Sterling (Maddie Phillips) and Blair Wesley (Anjelica Bette Fellini), who bang up their dad’s truck and need a way to pay for the repairs. Sterling and Blair happen to help seasoned bounty hunter Bowser Simmons (Kadeem Hardison) with some extra bounty hunting on the side, to their parents’ ignorance, in order to pay off the truck’s damage.
The series premiered in August 2020 to overwhelmingly positive reviews, still holding on strong to its 93% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Sometimes strong reviews are enough to propel a new series to another season, but there was some disconnect with Teenage Bounty Hunters crossing the threshold to a second season. As a result, it will forever be one of the best one-season wonders streaming on Netflix.
