Now the filmmaking process has officially wrapped, and we’re here to share with you everything else we know so far about Through My Window: Across the Sea.

Through My Window: Across the Sea synopsis

Author Ariana Godoy, who wrote the original Wattpad story the first film was based on, is involved in developing the screenplay for Through My Window: Across the Sea. Marçal Forés returns as the director for the sequel as well.

Here’s what Netflix had to say about what the second film will be about right below:

"Ares has gone to study in Stockholm, and he and Raquel are in a long-distance relationship, which is more challenging than they had expected. When summer arrives and they meet again, the long separation and the people they have met during that time will challenge what they thought was an unbreakable bond."

As it seems, the sequel will put their relationship and love for each other to the test after spending time apart and coming back together. It’s going to be the perfect romantic summer movie to watch and swoon over. Even if there isn’t a happy ending, fans still have another sequel to look forward to!

Through My Window: Across the Sea filming

On April 28, 2022, Netflix announced principal photography was officially underway on the sequel.

The cameras stopped rolling on July 9, 2022, and the film entered post-production immediately after to be edited. It’s unclear how long it took to edit the film and get it ready to be released, but if we’re basing the time frame on the first film, it could’ve spent about nine months in post-production. But it doesn’t really matter at this point because we know now it’s coming out in summer 2023!

Through My Window: Across the Sea trailer

The trailer previews Ares and Raquel’s long-distance relationship now that he’s studying in Stockholm, as well as their reunion and the steamy scenes that follow.
