Will there be a Turbo 2?
Have you checked Netflix’s top 10 movie list recently? As of March 8, the kid-animated film Turbo is sitting at the No. 4 spot, which means tons of people are streaming it. For the people who’ve watched the movie, they might be wondering if there will be a sequel. As always, you can count on us at Netflix Life to provide you with everything you need to know about a Turbo 2.
Turbo is a DreamWorks Animation production. It was helmed by David Soren in his feature directorial debut. Additionally, Soren co-wrote the screenplay with Darren Lemke and Robert Siegel.
The movie is set in Los Angeles, California, and follows a garden snail named Theo/Turbo, who’s obsessed with car racing and has an unusual dream of becoming the world’s greatest racer. But after a freak accident, Theo’s dream doesn’t seem that impossible anymore when he’s given the power of superspeed. With his new ability, Theo pursues his dream of winning the Indy 500.
Ryan Reynolds voices Theo/Turbo. Paul Giamatti, Michael Peña, Snoop Dogg, Maya Rudolph, Bill Hader, Luis Guzmán, and many others join Reynolds in the voice cast.
Is Turbo 2: Back in Action a real movie?
If you’ve been searching for information on Turbo 2, you might’ve come across a website discussing a sequel titled Turbo 2: Back in Action. According to this website, the second film came out in July 2022. However, this is false information. This is not a real movie. It’s unclear where this website got this information, but it’s not true.
Will there be a Turbo 2?
Unfortunately, there are no plans for a Turbo 2. This shouldn’t surprise many people since it’s been almost a decade since the first film came out, and there hasn’t been any mention of a sequel. We’ve seen many kid-animated films return with sequels, but it doesn’t seem like this will happen with Turbo. It’s unknown why the creative team and production company behind the movie decided to pass on a sequel, but our guess is because the first film underperformed at the box office. So to sum it up, the possibility of a sequel is highly unlikely.
Don’t worry, though. You can always check out Turbo Fast, the kids’ animated series based on the film. It’s a Netflix original that premiered in December 2013. There are three seasons in total, so there’s plenty to watch and enjoy.
