Outside the world of streaming, one of the biggest shows on television right now has to be the Paramount Network’s Yellowstone and its prequels. Since its premiere on the cable network back in 2018, the neo-Western drama has carved out its own expansive universe.

So far, the Yellowstone-verse has launched the two successful prequel spinoffs 1883 and 1923, which have each become hits in their own right. Beyond those two series, creator Taylor Sheridan has three more in the works: Bass Reeves, 1944, and 6666.

Netflix shows to watch if you love Yellowstone: Longmire

The neo-Western crime drama Longmire premiered in June 2012 on A&E, where it aired for three seasons before Netflix picked it up for three more. Longmire is based on the Walt Longmire Mysteries series of books by Craig Johnson and centers on the sheriff as he investigates crimes in Wyoming. The series, which contains six seasons comprised of 63 total episodes, garnered consistently positive reviews and makes for the perfect binge if you love Yellowstone.

Godless

In 2017, Netflix released the Western drama limited series Godless. The seven-episode miniseries takes place in 1884 and follows the adventure of an on-the-run outlaw who winds up in a town with a majority population of women. Godless was met with overwhelming critical praise and landed 12 Emmy Award nominations, taking home three — two for Jeff Daniels and Merritt Wever’s performances and one its main title theme music.
