Are John B and Sarah really married in Outer Banks season 3?

John B and Sarah, played by former real-life couple Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline, are the central pairing of Outer Banks. The fearless Pogue leader and the one-time Kook Princess are a matched made in treasure-hunting heaven.

The fan-favorite couple, also known as Val and Vlad, are back in Outer Banks season 3 for another rollercoaster ride. From Poguelandia and back again, John B and Sarah will have to contend once more with gold, their families, and all of the uncertainties in between.

You might remember that in Outer Banks season 2, John B and Sarah got married. But was that for real? Here’s what you need to know about the couple in season 3.

Are John B and Sarah actually married in Outer Banks season 3?

It’s not a spoiler to clarify that John B and Sarah aren’t legally married in Outer Banks season 3. Seeing as they are each still minors and made the decision to emotionally commit themselves to each other in marriage back in season 2, their union isn’t legal.

So, if viewers come across any additional references to John B and Sarah being “married” in Outer Banks season 3, just know that it’s not a legally binding marriage. Could you imagine Ward Cameron, of all people, signing off and allowing his daughter to marry a Pogue?

When the young lovers were stranded in the Bahamas in the beginning of season 2, they live in the moment since tomorrow wasn’t guaranteed. On their own, they recite vows and John B tears off a piece of his treasured bandanna for Sarah to wear. It’s a sweet gesture.

Of course, no one knows what the future holds for these Pogues, and perhaps John B and Sarah will officially tie the knot in Outer Banks season 4 or in another season in the future. They were probably a bit too busy with other matters to walk down the aisle in season 3.
