Do John B and Sarah get [spoiler] in Outer Banks season 2?

Outer Banks season 2 has officially arrived to heat up summer and answer all of those lingering questions left behind by the season 1 finale. Naturally, most OBX fans were understandably worried about John B and Sarah after they wound up on the run.

Although ahead of the Outer Banks season 2 premiere Netflix released a clip that hinted at the couple’s fate while on the run, no one could have seen the twists and turns their relationship took throughout season 2.

Of course, searching for Ward’s gold in the Bahamas and returning home to face the facts were monumental tests on John B and Sarah, but the hits didn’t stop coming for the couple and their Pogue friends. With every victory came another hurdle to overcome.

But how did John B and Sarah manage to keep their love alive during all of the chaos and literal storms thrown their way in Outer Banks season 2? Did the couple break up, make up or — gulp — take things to the next level?

Are John B and Sarah married in Outer Banks season 2?

Technically, yes! John B and Sarah did get unofficially married in Outer Banks season 2. Without question, this development in their relationship will make the hearts of John B and Sarah shippers flutter a mile a minute.

While on the run in the Bahamas and confronting the uncertainty of their future, the young lovers live in the moment and decide to commit to each other forever. They recite their vows to each other, and John B tears off a piece of his cherished bandana from his father for Sarah to wrap around her neck. It’s cute and symbolic and totally perfect.

Of course, as matters take a sharp turn once they return home and Ward blows himself up on the My Druthers, Sarah breaks up with John B and returns the piece of bandana. But fear not, the 100% endgame couple (you know it’s true!) reconcile and resume their unofficial union.
