New Amsterdam season 1 episodes

On Sept. 25, 2018, New Amsterdam made its premiere on NBC and debuted to over 8 million viewers in its post-This Is Us timeslot. The pilot episode was written by David Schulner and directed by Kate Dennis. In the lead of the series, 90210 and The Blacklist alum Ryan Eggold plays Dr. Max Goodwin, the medical director of the titular hospital.

The first season contains a full-season order of 22 episodes and begins with an incredible introduction to all of the characters. Dr. Goodwin battled cancer in the beginning of the series while his wife was pregnant with their first child. By the end of the first season, their daughter Luna is born but Max’s wife, Georgia, sadly passes away.

While the first season dealt with Max’s chemotherapy treatment and various medical cases, there were also memorable events such as a blizzard, a power outage, and the season-ending ambulance crash.
