Eggold starred in 90210 as West Beverly Hills High School English teacher Ryan Matthews. Although he looked about as old as the show’s teens, he wasn’t one of them. Rather, he was the young teacher attempting to relate to these privileged Beverly Hills kids.

After the third season finale, when the teens graduated high school, Eggold left the series and never appeared in the following two seasons. Ryan had dated Silver’s half-sister Kelly (Jennie Garth), Naomi’s sister Jen (Sara Foster), and Annie and Dixon’s mom Debbie (Lori Loughlin). He had a son with Jen and ended up with Debbie in Paris.
