Ginny & Georgia season 2 was released on Netflix on Jan. 5 and was a huge success. Now everyone’s wondering if there will be a third season of the teen series. Sadly, the streaming giant hasn’t announced whether there will be a Ginny & Georgia season 3 yet. However, we believe this entertaining show deserves to continue on in an additional installment. Please, Netflix, this can’t be the last time we see one of our favorite mother-daughter duos.

When the first season of Ginny & Georgia premiered in February 2021, many people tuned in to see what the teen series was about. It follows a young single mom named Georgia who decides to move with her two kids, Ginny and Austin, to a quiet New England town to give them a better life. But Georgia isn’t your average mom. She has a dark past that she’s been trying hard to keep buried, but it keeps being brought to light. Her daughter Ginny even eventually learns of one of the horrible deeds she did in the past.

This is why Ginny & Georgia season 2 finds Georgia and Ginny at odds at the beginning. But besides their problems with each other, they also have their own personal problems, such as Ginny and her complicated relationships with Marcus and MANG and Georgia’s wedding planning. And we can’t forget the arrival of Georgia’s ex-boyfriend/Austin’s father, Gil.

A lot happens in the second season, and we would like to see the story continue in a third season. In fact, there are many reasons why this teen series deserves a third season. We just need Netflix to see the show’s potential and give the go-ahead for another installment.

Spoilers ahead from Ginny & Georgia season 2.

Reasons why Netflix needs to renew Ginny & Georgia

The viewing hours don’t lie.

Netflix reported that Ginny & Georgia season 2 was watched for 504.8 million hours globally in its first 28 days on Netflix. What a feat! People love the teen series and the high viewing hours speak for themselves.

Since viewing hours are the main factor that the streaming giant looks at to decide whether to renew or cancel or show, I’d say they have no reason not to renew Ginny & Georgia. Not only did the show draw in tons of viewers, it still manages to hold a spot on the top 10 list. Honestly, I believe Ginny & Georgia will be renewed. Netflix is likely waiting for the right time to make the big announcement. We’ll probably hear something by the end of February or early March.

The season 2 finale leaves off on a shocking cliffhanger.

We deserve a third season because we need to see what happens to Georgia now that she’s been arrested for the murder of Tom Fuller. Although the audience knows Georgia did actually kill Tom, the only other person who knows this is Austin. So, what evidence do the authorities have to charge her with his murder? Also, how will Ginny and Austin cope without their mom? Georgia and Ginny were finally in a good place in their relationship, so it would be interesting to see how Georgia’s arrest changes things. Overall, we need a third season to see how everything plays out.

Ginny & Georgia isn’t expensive to make.

Another factor Netflix takes into consideration when deciding whether to renew or cancel a show is production costs. We don’t know exactly how much it costs to make a season of Ginny & Georgia, but we highly doubt it’s expensive to produce. There aren’t that many locations used in the show, and many scenes are filmed on a set in a production studio.
