Everyone’s watching and talking about Ginny and Georgia season 2 now that it’s streaming on Netflix. However, we’re also hearing a lot of talk about a third season. The people that already finished the second season are wondering if there will be a Ginny and Georgia season 3. As always, that’s no problem for us at Netflix Life! We shared everything we know about a potential third season below.

Ginny and Georgia is arguably one of Netflix’s best teen series currently streaming. The first season premiered in February 2021, with 52 million subscribers tuning in to watch the series for the first 28 days after its release. Additionally, the first season was watched for 381 million hours globally. What an amazing feat!

Due to the success of the first season, the streaming giant decided to green-light the teen series for a second season consisting of another 10 episodes in April 2021. But unfortunately, fans had to wait quite some time before they got to see the new episodes. After an over-a-year wait, Ginny and Georgia season 2 was finally released on the streamer on Jan. 5. 2023.

Of course, most people dropped everything they were doing at the time to binge-watch the new season. Now, they’re wondering what the chances are of the teen series returning for a third installment. Could there be a Ginny and Georgia season 3? Here’s what we know.

Is Ginny and Georgia season 3 happening?

At the time of writing, Netflix has not renewed or canceled the teen series. Honestly, it’s too early to call since the second season was just released. The streaming giant needs time to see how many people watch the second season in a certain period of time.

With that being said, it’ll probably take a month or so before Netflix makes a decision. I mean, it took two months from the first season’s premiere for the streamer to renew the show for a second season. So, it’s possible that we could be looking at a wait of two months before we learn of the show’s fate. This means we could hear something in March. But, who knows, maybe we’ll hear something earlier, like in February.

The first four weeks of the second season’s release is very important. This is when Netflix will be looking at how many people streamed the second season in its entirety. Yes, the full season must be watched for it to count toward views.

When Netflix tallies the viewing numbers, they’ll decide from there. However, it’s important to mention that other factors play a part in the streamer’s decision to renew or cancel a series, such as production costs and critical acclaim. Fortunately, it doesn’t look like Ginny and Georgia is an expensive show to make, so that shouldn’t be a problem. And we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the critical response for Ginny and Georgia season 2 isn’t bad.

Ultimately, it’ll all come down to viewership. If the viewing numbers are high enough to Netflix’s standards, the streamer will likely hand out another season. So, we strongly recommend telling everyone you know to watch Ginny and Georgia season 2 to better the show’s chances of renewal.

The second season ends on a shocking cliffhanger, so there’s definitely more story to tell in a Ginny and Georgia season 3. We just need the green light from Netflix.

We’ll keep you updated on the teen series renewal status, so stay tuned to Netflix Life!
