It’s time to hang out down the street with a new generation of Point Place teens! That ’90s Show, the sequel spinoff to That ’70s Show, premiered its first season on Netflix on Jan. 19. Along with catching up with our favorite past characters, the series introduces us to some newbies.

In That ’90s Show, Eric and Donna’s 15-year-old daughter Leia (Callie Haverda) spends the summer of 1995 with her grandparents, Kitty and Red Forman, in her father’s childhood home. Leia befriends a new group of misfits and brings new life to that oh-so famous basement.

On her first day in Point Place, Leia meets her next-door neighbor Gwen (Ashley Aufderheide), and the pair become fast friends. But Leia also meets a boy by the name of Jay Kelso (Mace Coronel), who just might be a love interest. And yes… His last name is Kelso!

That ’90s Show explains early on Jay’s connection to Ashton Kutcher’s Kelso, but in case you missed it, here’s the answer to the question some viewers might be wondering.

Who are Jay Kelso’s parents in That ’90s Show?

Jay’s last name being Kelso isn’t a coincidence. In the first episode of the spinoff, Jay’s parents are revealed to be Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) and Jackie (Mila Kunis). The real-life married couple reprises their iconic roles from the original series in only one episode of That ’90s Show.

While Jay’s connection to the original series is revealed in the first episode, we don’t get to see any of his home life. Beyond Kutcher and Kunis’ cameo, not much else about the Kelso family comes to light in the first season’s 10 episodes. It’s unclear where they live, what they do for a living, if they’re still friends with the Formans, and how Leia and Jay had never met before now.

Hopefully, the series performs well for Netflix and fans will have the chance to see more of Jay’s family in That ’90s Show season 2. Aside from learning more about Jay, fans of the original series would love to see even more of Kelso and Jackie.
