Did Glass Onion win any Golden Globes in 2023?

With its theatrical release in November 2022 and its Netflix premiere in December, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery easily become one of the year’s best performing and most watched Netflix movies. Knives Out fans couldn’t get enough of the multi-layered sequel.

Daniel Craig returned in Glass Onion as renown and highly skilled detective Benoit Blanc, and this time, he’s looking into the curious case of tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) and the murder mystery weekend he throws on his private island. Of course, the weekend takes a turn for the whodunit.

The excellent cast of the Golden Globe-nominated film also includes Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, Madelyn Cline, and Jessica Henwick.  But did Glass Onion win any of the Golden Globe awards it was nominated for in 2023? Here’s how the hit film fared at the ceremony!

• Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy
• Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy: Daniel Craig

Glass Onion Golden Globe Awards 2023

Sadly, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery didn’t take home the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy prize. The film competed for the award against fellow movies Babylon, The Banshees of Inisherin, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and Triangle of Sadness. In the end, The Banshees of Inisherin walked away with the big win for comedy movies.

Likewise, Daniel Craig wasn’t the winner in the Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category at the Golden Globes. Craig was nominated alongside Diego Calva (Babylon), Adam Driver (White Noise), Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin), and Ralph Fiennes (The Menu). For his performance The Banshees of Inisherin, Colin Farrell won the award.

Although it’s unlikely to premiere in time for the next award cycle, Netflix will be making Knives Out 3, the third installment in the film’s franchise. Craig will be back once again as Benoit Blanc to unravel another mystery, and writer-director Rian Johnson has already gotten to work on writing the second sequel. Surely, Knives Out 3 and Craig will land even more awards recognition when the film premieres.
