Glass Onion spoilers: Who is the killer in Knives Out 2?

Knives Out 2, the latest Netflix release and the much-anticipated sequel to the 2019 hit movie of the same name, has finally arrived on Netflix just in time for the Christmas holiday.

Featuring an all-star cast, an intriguing plot twist, and an action-packed crime thriller, the movie is sure to have movie fans on the edge of their seats! In Knives Out 2, we follow the story of Detective Benoit Blanc, who is once again tasked with solving a mysterious murder case. This time, however, the stakes are higher than ever as the enigmatic detective must unravel a web of lies and secrets in order to solve the case.

In the film, the adventure moves to a lavish Greek island against the backdrop of the private estate of billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton), who brings together some of his closest friends for their annual reunion. While the guest list is usually restricted to the circle of friends, renowned detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) also somehow finds a way onto the guest list and quickly finds himself caught up in the complicated dynamics of the group.

Among those on the guest list are Miles’ former business partner Andi Brand (Janelle Monáe), current Connecticut governor Claire Debella (Kathryn Hahn), cutting-edge scientist Lionel Toussaint (Leslie Odom Jr.), fashion designer and former model Birdie Jay (Kate Hudson) and her conscientious assistant Peg (Jessica Henwick), and influencer Duke Cody (Dave Bautista) and his sidekick girlfriend Whiskey (Madelyn Cline).

While the group was first brought together under the guise of a murder mystery party, bodies soon begin to fall leaving Blanc to pick up the pieces in order to figure out who the killer is. It’s an amazingly complicated mystery that unravels across the film with a truly incredible mid-movie twist that changes the game!

Knives Out 2 killer spoilers

In Knives Out 2, Miles Bron is revealed to be the killer. He is a successful tech CEO, who is not nearly as smart as he seems to be and is driven to murder in order to protect himself when his web of lies begins to unravel.

Our first murder of the film occurs with the unexpected death of Duke Cody, who dies suddenly after drinking from a glass we’re led to believe was intended for Miles. However, as we later discover, it was Miles who handed the glass directly to Duke knowing he had spiked the drink with pineapple juice which would trigger a deadly allergic reaction that led to Duke’s death.

Following Duke’s death, Miles managed to steal his gun which he then used to shoot Andi amid the chaos that ensued after Duke’s death when the power was momentarily cut as part of the original murder mystery game set up — one which Blanc ruined by solving it during the group’s first dinner on night one of their gathering.

At first, it seems that Andi was killed after Miles shot her; however, we discovered the bullet was stopped by a diary… and that the woman we assumed to be Andi was actually her twin sister Helen!

After Andi discovered evidence that would prove Miles had been lying about who truly created the concept that helped to launch their company, — one which Miles pushed Andi out of in a hostile takeover — Andi sent an email to Birdie, Duke, Claire, and Lionel telling them she held the key to bringing Miles down. Shortly after, she was found dead in her car in the garage of her home with her death ruled a suicide.

Helen wasn’t convinced her sister would take her life, especially not after finding the proof she had been looking for to bring Miles down. This was when she went to Blanc to seek out his help and the two developed a plan to try to snuff out the killer, and that’s exactly what they did.

As it turned out, the proof Andi had found was the original napkin in which she wrote down the idea for what would become their billion-dollar company. Upon discovering what Andi had unearthed, Miles paid her a visit where he poisoned her and staged her death. As for why he killed Duke?

Duke had gotten a Google alert the moment the truth about Andi’s death broke which is when he put the pieces together and tried to leverage what he knew to get time on Miles’ media platform. You see, Miles nearly hit Duke with his car the day Andi died which helped Duke to put the pieces together about Miles’ actions. So to cover his tracks and prevent Duke from spilling what he knew, Miles killed him by using the pineapple juice in Duke’s drink to trigger an allergic reaction.
