It’s that time of year! Now that 2022 is coming to an end soon, we’ve decided to look back at everything Netflix has released throughout the year. More specifically, the various Korean dramas that came out. Seriously, the streamer provided viewers with great content this year!

Netflix released tons of Korean dramas like Alchemy of Souls, Glitch, Under the Queen’s Umbrella, Once Upon a Small Town, Green Mothers’ Club, Remarriage & Desires, Thirty-Nine, Café Minamdang, My Liberation Notes, Juvenile Justice, Forecasting Love and Weather, etc.

Best Korean dramas on Netflix in 2022

It’s only right that we start with arguably the best Korean drama to be released this year, All of Us Are Dead.

All of Us Are Dead

When All of Us Are Dead premiered on Netflix on Jan. 28, I knew it would be an instant hit. Why? First, people love zombie shows and movies. I mean, look at the long-running AMC series The Walking Dead, which recently ended its run this year. Secondly, people love Korean dramas. There’s always been an audience for Korean content, but with the release of Squid Game, the demand significantly increased.

But we have to talk about the show itself. The plot is enticing enough to catch your interest. It follows a bunch of high schoolers that are forced to band together to escape their school after a zombie apocalypse suddenly breaks out. Also, many of the characters are likable, which is something people look for when watching a show.

And we can’t forget the talented ensemble cast. Each actor gives an outstanding performance which is not common. Overall, if you want to watch something that is action-packed and will keep you on the edge of your seat, make sure to check out All of Us Are Dead on Netflix. Business Proposal

I would have to give the award for best romantic Korean drama of 2022 to Business Proposal. It’s about an office worker who decides to take her friend’s place on a blind date to scare her suitor away, only to find out that the blind date is her boss. You can only imagine how things turn out afterward.

Honestly, the show is hilariously funny. The acting is on point, and you will absolutely love the two main leads. They have great chemistry, which makes the love story much more believable. If you’re looking for something light-hearted and refreshing, we strongly recommend checking out Business Proposal.

Twenty-Five Twenty-One

I was not expecting Twenty-Five Twenty-One to be as good as it is. I started this show not knowing what I was getting myself into, only for it to be one of my favorite Korean dramas to be released this year.

It follows the love story between two very different people, which spans from the year of 1998 to 2021. The story begins with a passionate teen girl whose dreams of being a professional fencer are crushed when there’s a sudden financial crisis in Korea in the 1990s. But then she meets a hardworking comic book shop employee and eventually realizes that he may be the person to keep her uplifted and motivated. As expected, they ultimately fall in love, but not without several obstacles thrown their way.

Twenty-Five Twenty-One is a heartwarming series that you’ll enjoy from beginning to end. Try to check out on Netflix before the year is over!

Extraordinary Attorney Woo

Extraordinary Attorney Woo is not a Korean series I would typically watch, but I just couldn’t pass it up after all of the positive reviews. The show follows Woo Young-woo, an intelligent attorney with Asperger’s syndrome, as she tackles challenging cases in the courtroom at a top law firm.

The lead actress, Park Eun-bin, gives an incredible performance through and through. In fact, the entire cast was enjoyable to watch. Also, I love the autism representation. Many times shows do a horrible job of representing the autistic community, but Extraordinary Attorney Woo managed to present an honest depiction of someone on the autism spectrum.

If you’re looking for something to watch other than a typical romantic Korean drama, you should check out Extraordinary Attorney Woo. It’s very entertaining and a breath of fresh air.

Tomorrow

Not enough people talk about Tomorrow when discussing the best Korean dramas to come out in 2022, and I’m about to change that. Tomorrow follows a young man named Choi Jun-woong, who is unable to secure a job. But his life suddenly changes when he accidentally meets grim reapers from the underworld. Now, Choi Jun-woong is working for a crisis management team to carry out special missions, such as saving suicidal people.

Given what the show is about, it’s definitely not for the faint-hearted. It’s a very emotional show, but it also teaches important life lessons and spreads awareness of sensitive issues. Tomorrow is an eye-opener for sure, and I recommend watching it if you haven’t already.

Little Women

I knew from the trailer that Little Women would be one of my favorite Korean dramas of 2022. It’s about three poor sisters whose lives forever change after getting entangled in a case involving the wealthiest and most influential family in South Korea.

The plot instantly pulled me in, but the unique twists and turns are what kept me coming back for more. Also, the main cast is made up of actresses (Kim Go-eun, Nam Ji-hyun, and Park Ji-hu) that I enjoyed watching in other Korean series. As expected, they gave amazing performances. So, if you’re looking for something suspenseful and full of mystery, make sure to add Little Women to your watchlist.
