The film nominations for the Critics’ Choice Awards 2022 are officially here, and Netflix has secured 13 noms so far. That’s in addition to Netflix’s 12 television nominations, meaning the streaming service has earned 25 Critics’ Choice nominations overall!

When it comes to movies, Netflix’s most successful film this year is Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. The movie doesn’t come to Netflix until December 23, but it did already have a limited run in theaters. Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and Wendell & Wild also received nominations on the animation front and so did foreign-language films BARDO and All Quiet on the Western Front.

Easily Netflix’s most successful category this year on the TV side is the Best Foreign Language Series, where Netflix earned four nominations for Borgen, 1899, Kleo, and Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Elsewhere, Netflix and Ryan Murphy’s controversial collaboration on Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story earned one nom for Niecy Nash-Betts. Interestingly, Evan Peters, who played the title role, was not nominated.

Other acting roles that received recognition from the American-Canadian Critics’ Choice Association include Laura Linney and Julia Garner for their work in the final season of Ozark. Garner is a double nominee yet again for her portrayal of Ruth in Ozark and her work in the massive hit that was Inventing Anna.

But Netflix continues its trend of being locked out of the comedy categories as the streamer has struggled to get a breakout comedy hit. Even the Best Drama Series is lacking this year, with just one single nom for The Crown.
