Well, THAT happened! Manifest season 4 part 1 answered all of our burning questions but gave us about 828 million more to ponder as we wait for part 2. But Manifesters probably weren’t expecting some of the twists and turns that occurred in part 1.

The first half of the 20-episode final season picks up with the Stones and their rapidly sinking Lifeboat two years after Grace’s death and Eden’s kidnapping in the season 3 finale. Ben still hasn’t recovered from his grief, and his attempts to find Eden consume him.

Meanwhile, Cal’s aged-up return appears to put some strain on the family as the the Death Date clock ticks away and puts more and more pressure on the heads of the 828 Lifeboat. Were Ben and Michael able to steer the ship in the right direction, or are they fated for doom?

Warning: MAJOR spoilers ahead from Manifest season 4 part 1!

Are the passengers saved in Manifest season 4 part 1?

Although the 828ers aren’t saved from the Death Date in season 4 part 1, the team has gotten closer than ever to finding the answers they need to save the world. In tandem with the revelation that the Death Date isn’t just for Flight 828 passengers but the whole world, Olive leads them to the discovery of the Omega Sapphire, a tool that could save them and humanity.

In the end of season 4 part 1, Angelina’s abuse of the Omega Sapphire causes false Callings and mass pain for all Flight 828 passengers around the world, causing the Registry and its regional facilities to detain all passengers until further notice. Following Zeke’s sacrifice, Cal and the retrieval of the remaining bits of the Omega Sapphire from Angelina’s bionic hand will be the key.

Is Zeke really dead in Manifest season 4 part 1?

Realizing that he has the power to absorb Cal’s pain and save his life, Zeke holds Cal’s hand and sacrifices himself. Zeke had overheard Olive and TJ talking about saving Cal and, as the dragon, him being the key to help save the passengers and humanity at large from the Death Date.

Sadly, Zeke calls Michaela to give his tearful and heartbreaking final goodbyes. She and Ben rush home, and Michaela returns in time for Zeke to tell her he’ll see her again under the stars. Michaela holds him in her arms as he dies, and Ben and Olive watch over Cal as he comes back to life. For now, Zeke appears to be dead unless a future event happens to somehow bring him back.

What happens to Angelina’s hand in Manifest season 4 part 1?

When Ben and Michaela confront Angelina at the church in her old school, the Omega Sapphire bursts in her hand thanks to Cal bringing her into a Calling. The church’s window shatters on Angelina, but she awakens to reach for the last remaining chunk of glowing sapphire. As she reaches, it falls into the lava of the volcanic fissures, and the stone crystallizes in her hand.

The rest of her arm looks to have been turned to stone or metal upon the lava and Omega Sapphire melding together. Lord only knows what powers she might now contain with the sapphire being attached to her body and possibly activated by the lava. Not to mention, she’s the reason the city now has volcanic fissures growing in reach like in Stranger Things.
