Does Zeke die in Manifest season 4? (Manifest spoilers)

Matt Long almost wasn’t able to appear in the final season in a series regular capacity due to another series, but everything worked out in the end allowing him to return as Zeke in the final season of Manifest.

Zeke and Michaela are a fan-favorite couple on the series… unless you ship Michaela with Jared. But fans love watching Zeke and Michaela’s marriage evolve, and there was a lot of evolution in season 4 following the tense situation they left off with in season 3.

As with most seasons of Manifest, the first half of season 4 continued to put our favorite characters in harm’s way, and no one ends up in dangerous scenarios as often as Zeke. Remember when he almost froze to death?

But does Zeke actually die in Manifest?

Does Zeke die in Manifest season 4 part 1?

At the beginning of the season, Zeke appears to be in a great place. He and Michaela have settled their troubles and he’s helping the Stone family while also working as a counselor. However, as he continues to take on more and more pain from others, his powers seem to malfunction.

Zeke continues to fight through the pain of his powers, but in season 4 episode 8, he’s shot in the leg during a struggle with Angelina’s father, Kenneth, who happens to be the 828 serial killer. Thankfully, Zeke doesn’t die from the gunshot.

In the season 4 part 1 finale, Cal’s health takes a turn for the worse. He has mere hours left to live as his family attempts to track down the Omega Sapphire in the hopes it could save him. Unfortunately, Zeke realizes he can take on all of Cal’s pain and sacrifice himself to ensure Cal survives to help save the world from the Death Date.

While taking on Cal’s pain, Zeke calls Michaela and tearfully says his final goodbyes. It’s a deeply emotional and devastating sequence as Michaela rushes home to find Zeke taking his last breaths to say he’ll see her again under the stars. She sobs and holds him in her arms, lifeless beside Cal’s bedside. Ben and Olive watch as Cal returns to life.

For all intents and purposes, Zeke dies in Manifest season 4 part 1. He beat his Death Date the first time, but will he be able to beat this in part 2? The answer to that question remains to be seen, but we selfishly hope Zeke will somehow be saved.
