Wednesday release date
Tim Burton fans, get ready! We’re going to see the return of one of the most classic spooky characters of all time this year. Netflix announced they’ll be releasing a Wednesday Addams live-action TV show, simply called Wednesday, with actress Jenna Ortega in the starring role.
Viewers will know Ortega for her role in Netflix’s You, as well as her more recent roles in the 2022 Scream movie and the film X.
Similar to the various Addams Family films we’ve gotten over the years, we’re expecting Wednesday to be family-friendly, something the whole family can watch together this Thanksgiving. According to the streamer, it’s a “coming-of-age supernatural mystery comedy.” We’re excited to see a series focusing on the daughter of one of the best fictional families ever!
Catherine Zeta-Jones will also appear in Wednesday as Morticia Addams, which is awesome. Other cast members include Game of Thrones and The Sandman alum Gwendoline Christie as a new character named Larissa, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester. Christina Ricci will also return to the franchise, playing a role that’s at this point undisclosed.
Wednesday will premiere on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022.
