As August comes to a close, don’t forget to check out the latest releases in Netflix shows. The month may be ending, but Netflix hasn’t stopped with the new releases. This week sees many new series arriving, including A24’s Mo, Lost Ollie, and Partner Track.

Best new Netflix shows August 27, 2022

Lost Ollie

The live-action/computer-animated series Lost Ollie is now available on Netflix. This series is based on William Joyce’s children’s book Ollie’s Odyssey. 

The story tells of a lost toy rabbit who seeks to find the little boy who lost him. This limited series is a heartwarming tale that most of the family can enjoy. It is rated TV-PG, meaning parental guidance is suggested for language and fear.

The cast for this series includes Gina Rodriguez, Jake Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Mary J. Blige, Jonathan Groff, and Kesler Talbot.

Mo

Season 1 of the Netflix original series Mo, created by Mo Amer (The Vagabond, Ramy) and Ramy Youssef (Ramy), features eight episodes.

The series follows Mo Najjar (Amer), who is torn between two cultures and three languages as a Palestinian refugee trying to secure US citizenship for himself and his family. This heartfelt comedy is loosely based on Amer’s real-life experiences, where he sometimes laughs the pain away as he navigates getting ahead.

Also starring Teresa Ruiz, Farah Bsieso, Omar Elba, and Tobe Nwigwe.

Partner Track 

The newly released Partner Track is another series based on a novel, this one on Helen Wan’s book of the same title from 2013.

The story tells of first-generation Korean-American Ingrid Yun, the first attorney in her family. She works at Parsons Valentine, an old-school but prestigious law firm where she fights her way through all the challenges that come her way as she attempts to become a partner. While working hard to make her dreams come true, will she have any room left for love?

Also starring Bradley Gibson, Alexandra Turshen, Nolan Gerard Funk, Dominic Sherwood, Rob Heaps, and Matthew Rauch.

Selling the OC

Fans of Selling Sunset will be excited to see the new spinoff series head to Orange County. Selling the OC has recently been released, and fans have highly anticipated this new chapter in the unscripted real estate franchise of shows.

This series will see Jason Oppenheim, owner of Oppenheim Group, the real estate firm in Selling Sunset, as he expands his territory to Newport Beach. Selling the OC will feature Oppenheim and agents Alexandra Hall, Austin Victoria, and Brandi Marshall in this series as new agents are also introduced. Viewers will be in awe of the lavish homes while watching the agents experience up and downs of success that trickles into their personal lives.

Chad and JT Go Deep

The mockumentary Chad and JT Go Deep is now available to stream. This prank comedy series is inspired by the duo’s podcast Go Deep, where they act as concerned citizens and advocate for issues like an additional Independence Day, the right to party, a Paul Walker statue, and more.

The series features six goofy episodes that are a cross between Jackass and Borat. This series is for mature audiences as you never know what the chill bro comedians Chad and JT will do next.
