With the summer coming to an end, many of us horror and Halloween fans are already prepping for the spooky season! Luckily for us, Netflix has a lot of great horror movies and shows still to come this year. The following list highlights all the Netflix horror movies and television shows that are still expected to release in 2022.
Between a new Mike Flanagan series, the Wednesday Addams show starring Jenna Ortega and a new stop-motion animated flick from Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas creator Henry Selick, there are plenty of Netflix horror movies and shows to look forward to this fall and we cannot wait to watch!
While some of the following projects have release dates, most of the content slated for this fall and winter do not have premiere dates yet. We expect to find out more soon, potentially at Netflix’s Tudum event.
Best Netflix horror movies and shows still to come in 2022
The Midnight Club
Mike Flanagan’s next series is The Midnight Club, based on the Christopher Pike’s young adult novel of the same name. The show centers on a seven terminally ill patients at Rotterdam Home hospice.
Every night, at midnight, these seven friends meet to tell each other scary stories. They also make a pact that when one of them eventually dies, they will have to promise to continue communicating with the others from beyond the grave. But when one of them does die, very strange things begin happening.
Streaming October 7
Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities
Netflix is getting into the horror anthology series game with the upcoming Guillermo del Toro series. The new series will comprise a collection of personally curated stories that will be sophisticated and horrific.
Expect to see a lot of familiar and talented faces among the cast, with every episode bringing a new story. The cast announced for the show includes Andrew Lincoln, Ben Barnes, Chloe Madison, Charlyne Yi, Crispin Glover, Eric André, Rupert Grint, Sebastian Roché, Sofia Boutella, Tim Blake Nelson and many more.
Fans of del Toro will definitely want to watch because two episodes are actually original works by him. The series itself is based on his short story of the same name.

Wednesday
Jenna Ortega has been cast as Wednesday Addams in upcoming supernatural-mystery comedy series Wednesday. In the new series, we’ll follow Wednesday during her years attending Nevermore Academy, where she tries to stop a killing spree from ending the town citizens and solve a supernatural mystery that affected her family 25 years ago.
Fans of The Addams Family will definitely want to check out the new series, which also stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Gwendoline Christie and Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday in the films.
