All of you Workin’ Moms fans on Netflix, I’m sorry to say you need to start saying your goodbyes. The Canadian sitcom, which also airs on CBC, will be coming to an end with the upcoming seventh season.

According to a CBC press release, work on the final season has begun with principal photography. It’s expected to premiere on CBC sometime in winter 2023, followed by a global release on Netflix. The comedy drama has become an instant hit since the streaming service added the first season.

The show follows PR executive Kate and her long-time psychiatrist friend, Anne. The duo meet two other mothers in a mommies group – Jenny who is an IT tech and Frankie who is a real estate agent. The series offers a look at the realities of life as a mom, partner, and friend. We go on a journey with the four who form a friendship through their struggles of urban motherhood, balancing kids and careers, and so much more.

What we know about Workin’ Moms season 7

The highly-anticipated sixth season recently dropped on Netflix on May 10. According to CBC, the final season picks up where season 6 left off. We’ll see the women confront demons from their past so they can movie forward into their future.

Motherhood, relationships, and career choices will all be put to the test as they come to terms with who they once were and where they’re headed. Kate, Anne, Sloane, Jenny, and Val need to decide what kind of impact they want to leave with their work, the traits they’ll pass on to their children, and “how much more sh*t” they’re willing to take.

Of course actress Catherine Reitman will be back as leading lady, Kate, as well as Dani Kind as Anne, Enuka Okuma as Sloane, Jessalyn Wanlim as Jenny, Sarah McVie as Val. Also reprising their roles in season 7 are Philip Sternberg as Nathan, Ryan Belleville as Lionel, Sadie Munroe as Alice, Peter Keleghan as Richard, and Nikki Duval as Rosie. CBC said there will be other “fan favorites” who will make an appearance as well.

TVLine reports the final season will have a total of 13 episodes.
