Best animated shows on Netflix: Hilda

Hilda is a beautifully-animated Netflix series based on the graphic novel of the same name by Luke Pearson. The show ran for two seasons, 26 episodes in total, with a wrap-up film in place of a third season. Hilda received critical acclaim and even won several Emmy Awards, but it’s still not as popular as some of the other animated shows on the platform.

Even though Hilda is a “kid’s show,” it’s a worthwhile watch for people of all ages. The beauty of the animation makes the show’s fantastical premise and the city of Trolberg feel alive and breathing. Hilda is also a refreshing protagonist. She feels real, complex and her character arc is rich and rewarding.
