It can be a heart stopping moment when you read a headline or post on social media announcing that your favorite show has been canceled. It’s never something you want to see. But sometimes a post might be worded in a way that gives off the wrong meaning. And that’s what happened with a tweet about Stranger Things.

GameSpot, a video game, entertainment, and livestream news site, posted a tweet about shows Netflix has announced are “canceled” in 2022. The phrasing is a bit off because some of the shows on their graphic weren’t canceled. They’re simply coming to an end.

For example Netflix renewed Never Have I Ever for a season 3 in Aug. 2021, and the show is set to come back in the summer of this year. Then in March, just a couple of months ago, the streaming service gave fans the good news that the series would get a proper conclusion. It was renewed for a fourth and final season.

This is the same case for Stranger Things. Though the phrasing of the Twitter post says “canceled,” what GameSpot means is that Netflix announced the news this year that those list of shows have either been canceled or will produce their final seasons.

When are Stranger Things season 4 and 5 coming out?

Don’t worry! We’re going to get a chance to say goodbye to our friends in Hawkins with a (hopefully) satisfying ending. Both season 4 and the fifth and final season are still coming to Netflix.

Stranger Things season 4 has been split into two parts. Volume 1 is coming our way in just about three weeks on May 27. The second half of the season drops on Netflix July 1. There will be a total of nine episodes.

We don’t have a release date for Stranger Things season 5 yet. But rest assured. We’ll have both the fourth and fifth seasons in our hands soon enough!
