New Stranger Things season 4 trailer is full-out horror, reveals new monsters

As we inch closer and closer to the Stranger Things season 4 release this May, fans are looking in all places for new behind-the-scenes photos, first look stills, and of course, more teasers. Though we’ve gotten multiple teaser videos since the first one dropped in Feb. 2020, we’ve yet to officially see a full-length trailer. That is, until today! Get ready, folks, because we’re traveling back to Hawkins real soon!

Fans will remember that Eleven and the Byers family left Hawkins at the end of season 3, separating them from Mike and the rest of the gang. In the most recent teaser we got for season 4, however, we found out that the group would be reunited in time for Spring Break, as El and Mike write letters to each other counting down the days. And in the new trailer which was released on April 12, the kids are back together again! Thank goodness. But it seems like the closer they are, the more dangers come forward.

Stranger Things season 4 trailer reveals new monsters

Anyone else have goosebumps? There’s so much to process in the trailer and it’s obvious that the Duffer Brothers are not messing around this time around. It’s been almost three years since we got new episodes from the sci-fi series, and it looks like the new season will be worth the wait. I cannot stop rewatching this video!

It’s been teased that season 4 would have way more of a horror vibe than the previous seasons and I definitely get that now. There are several new monsters, including something menacing with ice blue eyes that I can’t help but compare to a White Walker, and a tall scary thing at the end of the trailer.

Robert Englund appears in Stranger Things season 4 trailer

Eleven needs her powers back to save the world! Max is seen levitating either for something good or something really sinister! A Nightmare on Elm Street legend Robert Englund makes a quick appearance! And Steve Harrington is shirtless!

Netflix let the world know that the trailer would be coming out today just on Monday, tweeting out a counting down clock. It didn’t take long for fans to realize that what they’ve been waiting for would arrive on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. ET.

Stranger Things season 4 release dates

Stranger Things season 4 might be over a month away, but Netflix is starting to really promote it now. We got confirmation in February that the season would be split into two parts, with volume one debuting on Friday, May 27 in time for Memorial Day Weekend, and volume two coming out on Friday, July 1, during Fourth of July Weekend. We also got the unfortunate news that Stranger Things season 5 will be the final installment.

We can’t wait to see what happens next for Eleven and the crew!
