Green Eggs and Ham season 2 ending explained: What happens to Yookia and Zookia?

After waiting for what felt like forever (I mean it was over two years) Green Eggs and Ham season 2 has finally arrived! The Dr. Seuss series debuted in November 2019 and became an acclaimed success for Netflix. The first season adapted plot elements of the popular Dr. Seuss book of the same name, with Guy-Am-I (Michael Douglas) and Sam-I-Am (Adam DeVine) as the main characters.

Throughout season 1, Guy and Sam were forced together after a briefcase swap that led them into all sorts of dangerous circumstances centering on a rogue Chickeraffe. In the finale, Sam finally found a solid lead on his mom’s whereabouts. Intending to rush off to East Flurbia to find her, Guy is tasked with yet another adventure alongside his new friend. Season 2 of the series adapts elements from another Seuss novel, The Butter Battle Book.

What happens to Yookia and Zookia saved in Green Eggs and Ham season 2?

Pam-I-Am (Patricia Clarkson) forces Guy to swap places with her on top of Guy’s weapon in Zookia so she can intercept Sam, who is on top of an identical weapon in Yookia armed with the devious Moo-Lacka-Moo. Pam manages to rescue Sam and disarm the weapons by using a little bit of leftover Goo-Lacka-Goo to contain the giant explosion in one giant purple bubble of goo.

The resulting explosion tears down the massive wall separating Yookia and Zookia, leaving citizens unsure of what to do next. E.B. (Ilana Glazer) and Looka (Darren Criss) help everyone understand that the Yooks and the Zooks aren’t so different after all. They combine one piece of bread butter-side-up and another butter-side-down to create a butter sandwich, much to everyone’s shock. Then the Dook (Héctor Elizondo) and Dookess (Rita Moreno) accept the sandwich and take a bite, finally creating peace between Yookia and Zookia.

What does Gluntz discover in the Green Eggs and Ham season 2 finale?

After not seeing Gluntz (Jillian Bell) since episode 1, she suddenly reappears in the finale to reveal that a cow-tel was behind everything. All the “fat cows” were creating animosity between the Yooks and the Zooks to profit from their increasing butter sales where they could skim off the top 2%…all in the name of profit margarines.

Then she gets to use the giant cowbell to shame the cows in the style of Hannah Waddingham as Septa Unella with her bell from Game of Thrones. Netflix animated shows seem to love the “shame” joke since the Shame Wizard from Big Mouth and Human Resources has a poster of Septa Unella in his office.

This reveal results in Dooka and Dookess realizing their entire fight was started over “fake moos.” So yes, it’s a cute pun-laden ending in addition to subtle commentary on our political landscape. Clever.

What happens to Sam, Guy, Michellee, Pam and E.B.?

As for the rest of our main characters, Michellee (Diane Keaton) gives birth to her and Guy’s son, Guy Junior. E.B. and Looka start a long-distance relationship after E.B., Michellee and Guy return to Glurfsburg. They spend hours every day talking to each other on the phone and Looka plans to visit E.B. there soon.

Pam and Sam settle down in Sam’s small trailer home. The last we see of them, Sam has made Pam green eggs and ham for the first time and she loves them!

Does Green Eggs and Ham season 2 have a post-credits scene?

The first season didn’t have a post-credits scene per se, but it did end with a hint toward what would happen in the show’s second season. Season 2 does not have any scenes like that. The last scene is of Sam and Pam eating green eggs and ham and nothing happens in the credit sequence.
