The Boondocks is hands down one of the best adult animated sitcoms ever! Like most adult animation series, The Boondocks isn’t for everybody. The topics discussed can be somewhat offensive and may rub some people the wrong way. Not many people will understand the edgy humor or the keen sense of satire. I enjoyed the series because it wasn’t afraid to discuss controversial topics that were going on in the world at the time. Sadly, after a four-season run, the series came to an end.

We’re coming up on eight years since the show ended, and so much has happened in the world since the series conclusion that I think a reboot could explore. In 2019, HBO Max picked up a two-season order for a reboot, but things went silent afterward. In February 2022, it was reported that The Boondocks reboot was scrapped at HBO Max. Maybe Netflix could pick it up in the near future?

I’m not a huge fan of the science fiction genre, but I was instantly hooked when Orphan Black premiered on BBC America in March 2013. I just couldn’t help but include this incredible series in my list of the best shows that Netflix needs to reboot. It had such a unique plot starting with an orphaned street-wise woman who assumes the identity of a dead girl who looks just like her. She soon finds out that the woman is her clone and that there are many others all around the world being hunted or monitored by people closest to them.

After watching the first episode, I quickly became obsessed with the leading actress Tatiana Maslany and was blown away by her astounding performance playing several different characters with different accents. The supporting cast also helped carry the show. To top it off, the show was really funny too.

Orphan Black received critical acclaim and several awards over its run, including an Emmy Award, two Critics’ Choice Television Awards, and a Peabody Award. It had a series run of five seasons, with its final episode airing in August 2017. Now that it’s been over four years since the show last aired, I think the world is ready for an Orphan Black reboot.
