15 best shows Netflix needs to reboot (from the past 15 years)
Modern Family
I know Modern Family just ended almost two years ago, but I miss this hilariously funny family sitcom. It premiered on ABC in 2009 and grew in popularity over the seasons. In fact, the show remained popular and maintained a loyal fan base throughout its eleven-season run on ABC.
Modern Family has received many accolades, including 22 Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy in 2011. The show had a wonderful cast, well-written script, great comedic timing, and well-rounded, relatable characters.
I’m not expecting to hear of a Modern Family reboot anytime soon since the series just recently came to an end. But if there were to be a reboot, I hope that Netflix fights hard for it. I’m aware that a Modern Family reboot would most likely be on Hulu or Disney+ since it’s an ABC show, but I still remain hopeful.
Parks and Recreation
The Office walked so Parks and Recreation could run. Parks and Recreation was often compared to The Office but soon made a name for itself. The show has garnered several awards and nominations over its run and was even named the No. 1 TV show of the year in 2012 by Time magazine. The entire cast is incredible, the characters are likable and well-developed, and the show is just all-around funny. The mockumentary style also adds to what makes the show so great.
It’s been over seven years since Parks and Recreation ended, so enough time might’ve passed for a reboot to work. Sadly, it doesn’t look like the creators have any plans for a reboot and are currently working on other projects. If there were to be a reboot, we probably wouldn’t hear of one until at least five years from now.
