Netflix has a darling in actress Lily Collins. She is sweet and talented, making for a great combination. She has a brand new film coming to Netflix on February 18 titled Windfall,  but what other features can you see her on Netflix?

Collins is the daughter of English musician Phil Collins. She was born in Guildford, Surrey. After her parent’s divorce, she moved to Las Angeles with her mother, Jill Tavelman. She studied broadcast journalism at the University of Southern California. She is married to director Charlie McDowell.

Her breakout role was in the movie The Blind Side, where Collins played Collins Tuohy, the daughter of Leigh Anne Tuohy, played by Sandra Bullock. She starred opposite Paul Bettany in Priest and portrayed Snow White in the 2012 film Mirror, Mirror with Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen Clementina. Other roles she is known for include Tolkien, Inheritance, Stuck in Love, and The English Teacher. 

Collins is also an author who wrote Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me. This book chronicles her struggles with mental health and an eating disorder she dealt with as a teenager.

To the Bone

Collins starred in the 2017 Netflix original drama, To the Bone. This film focuses on a young woman battling anorexia and was met with some controversy claiming the film glamorizes the condition.

Ellen (Collins) is a 20-year-old college dropout battling anorexia. With the help of her stepmother Susan (Carrie Preston), they find a specialist who deals with eating disorders. Dr. William Beckham (Keanu Reeves) recommends Ellen join his patient program.

Additional cast for this movie includes Lili Taylor, Alex Sharp, Liana Liberato, Brooke Smith, Leslie Bibb and Retta. Collins earned praise for her performance in this film.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

Another Netflix original film, Extremely Wicked Shockingly Evil and Vile, sees Collins as the single mother, Liz Kendell, who gets involved with serial killer Ted Bundy (Zac Efron).

This biographical crime drama tells of Ted Bundy’s life based on his former girlfriend Elizabeth Kendell’s memoir, The Phantom Prince: My Life with Ted Bundy. 

The film also stars John Malkovich, Kaya Scodelario, Jeffrey Donovan, Haley Joel Osment, James Hetfield, and Jim Parsons.

Abduction

The action thriller Abduction was directed by John Singleton pair Collins with Taylor Lautner.

Lautner plays Nathan, a young man who has always felt something was off with his family. When he discovered a younger photo of himself on a missing person website, this confirms his suspicions. As he sets out to discover the truth, he is targeted by assassins and must escape with the only person he can trust, his neighbor Karen (Collins).

Also starring Alfred Molina, Jason Isaacs, Maria Bello, Sigourney Weaver, and Dermot Mulroney.

Emily in Paris

The Netflix original series Emily in Paris was created for the streamer by Darren Star (Sex and the City). The series is set and filmed in Paris and currently has two seasons available to stream. The popularity of this series has earned it a third and fourth season renewal.

The series follows an American named Emily (Collins), who moves to France for her career. The story follows her career highs and lows, her love life struggles, and her acclimation to life in Paris after her “boring” midwestern upbringing.

The series also stars Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Camille Razat, and William Abadie.

Windfall

The film Windfall is set to release on March 18, 2022. Another Netflix original, this film is a thriller of Hitchcockian proportions directed by Collins’ husband, Charlie McDowell.

The film stars Collins as the wife of Jesse Plemons’ character, a tech billionaire. When the couple decides to take an unscheduled getaway to their vacation home, they discover that an intruder, Jason Segel, is in the house set to rob them.
