Maybe one of the best new shows of 2020, Never Have I Ever arrived on Netflix with a singular voice and point of view all its own. What else would you expect from a teen romantic comedy from the mind of Mindy Kaling and her The Mindy Project writer Lang Fisher? Now entering its second season, Never Have I Ever should keep us laughing for many, many years to come.

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan stars in Never Have I Ever as high school sophomore Devi Vishwakumar, who’s been going through a bit of a rough patch in the wake of her father’s death and her grief-induced paralysis. Looking to reinvent herself, Devi confronts her identity and sexuality head-on with an unabashed pursuit of her biggest crush and a clash with her traditional mother.

Never Have I Ever premiered to positive reception from critics and viewers alike in April 2020, with audiences connection with Devi’s exploration of her Indian heritage and a revival of a good, old-fashioned love triangle. There’s something for everyone to enjoy in Never Have I Ever, including its sharp and inclusive comedy. Hands down, it’s one of the funniest shows to watch on Netflix.
