To know Kristen Bell is to love her. Not just because she's delightful, hilarious, and super talented, but because you more than likely have adored a project she has starred in. Whether you met her as the quick witted teen detective in Veronica Mars or have had her singing voice playing in your home for years thanks to Disney's Frozen franchise, she's had a presence on your screen.
From her narration role on The CW's teen drama Gossip Girl, which returns to Netflix in the US in October 2024, to her latest beloved romantic comedy series on Netflix, Bell has been part of so many movies and shows that people simply love. Thankfully, lots of them are available to watch on Netflix. Here are all of the Kristen Bell movies and shows currenly on Netflix!
Nobody Wants This (2024-present)
Bell's latest starring role arrived in September 2024 in the Netflix original romantic comedy series Nobody Wants This. Also starring Adam Brody, the series centers on an agnostic sex and relationships podcast host who meets and falls for a handsome rabbi. In spite their strong feelings for each other, the world seems to conspire to keep them apart.
After making its premiere, the series from creator Erin Foster became a huge viewership hit on Netflix, taking the peak on the daily top 10 most popular shows ranking for multiple days. Two weeks after its premiere, Nobody Wants This was renewed for a second season set to premiere in 2025. There's lots more of Joanne and Noah's charming romance to come!
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
Bell's first Netflix original series came in the form of the 2022 limited dark comedy series The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window. Yes, the title is long. Much was made about the lengthy title at the time of the show's release, but it's an intentional parody of the types of female-centered thriller books that turned from best-sellers to blockbusters.
In The Woman in the House, Bell stars as Anna, who enjoys both this genre of thriller novels and having a bit too much wine. When she believes she's witnessed a murder in the home across the street, no one believes her. The show was frequently misunderstood since the sense of humor blurred the lines between satire and realism. However, Bell was dependably excellent.
The Good Place (2016-2020)
Bell returned to the small screen back in 2016 with Ted Danson in NBC's philosophical sitcom The Good Place. The one-two punch of television veterans came from creator Michael Schur, the hilarious mind behind Parks and Recreation and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Powered by a brilliant premise and an incredible cast, the series became a cult favorite.
The Good Place takes place in the afterlife, as a woman who believes she was destined to be sent to the "Bad Place" shockingly makes it into the "Good Place." But a bait-and-switch surprise in the season 1 finale flipped the script and proved the innovation of the series. As of October 2024, all four seasons of the beloved Emmy Award-nominated comedy are still available on Netflix.
Like Father (2018)
Apart from her two Netflix original comedy series, Bell has also starred in the Netflix original movie Like Father. The movie, which was written and directed by Lauren Miller Rogen (the wife of Seth Rogen!), released in August 2018. While it earned mostly negative reviews from critics, the comedy-drama film didn't deserve the bad reviews, especially not with Bell in the lead.
In the movie, Bell plays Rachel, a woman who was left at the altar and suddenly finds herself forced to spend time with her estranged father Harry (Kelsey Grammer) on a cruise. Like Father also stars Seth Rogen, Paul W. Downs, Zack Appelman, Amber Hodgkiss, and more. Be sure to check out the underrated Netflix original movie if you need a little bit more Kristen Bell on your watch list!
