Word on the street is Gossip Girl fans are really going to love this update from Netflix. After rumors started flying this summer that the fan-favorite teen drama series would be returning to Netflix in the United States, the streaming service has finally set a date!

All six seasons of The CW's original classic Gossip Girl will be back on Netflix US on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The series used to call Netflix its streaming home before departing the platform to stream exclusively on Max. Over the past year, the series began to return to Netflix in regions around the world, and it's finally the United States' turn to relive every dramatic moment.

Netflix shared the exciting news of the show's return to the US platform on Oct. 1, and it's coinciding with the notalgia surrounding the show reaching an all time high. Gossip Girl remains part of the pop culture conversation through memes (you know the one!) and its cast continuing to make waves with their latest roles and other projects, including podcasts and haircare lines.

Gossip Girl first premiered on The CW in September 2007 and ended after six seasons and 121 episodes in December 2012. The series was developed by The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz and executive producer Stephanie Savage, who each shared their excitement for fans new and old to be able to watch the show on Netflix again with Tudum.

Schwartz loves that long-time fans will get to have a long overdue catch-up with their old Constance Billard-St. Jude's pals, while also welcoming newbies into the fold: "I’m excited for fans to be able to hang out with their old friends and go on that epic coming-of-age journey once again. And for anyone who’s never seen the show — welcome to the Upper East Side!"

Meanwhile, Savage noted the "real surprise and delight" of watching Gossip Girl's lasting impact continue to pervade our modern language — though she didn't mention a certain meme format that ran a bit wild a couple years ago...

"I love coming across a new meme or an Instagram post that doesn’t even need to reference the names of the characters or the show — it’s just Blair Waldorf holding shopping bags in front of Pont Alexandre III. And the fan art is amazing — the family Thanksgiving videos to Jason Derulo’s ‘Whatcha Say’? Thanks, internet!"

The series attempted a comeback in the form of Max's reboot of the same name centered in the same world as the original. Although the series found a small but loyal audience, the reboot was canceled after only two seasons. Surely, with the enduring popularity of the franchise, we haven't seen the last of the social media gossiper's wily ways.

While you wait to watch Gossip Girl all over again on Oct. 29, make sure to tune into Netflix's new original romantic comedy series Nobody Wants This, which stars Gossip Girl narrator Kristen Bell and series star Leighton Meester's real-life husband Adam Brody. It's the perfect binge-watch to set you up for the nostalgic delights of one of the best teen dramas of all time.
