Let’s get the list started with arguably the best Netflix Christmas movie ever, Klaus.
Klaus
The Netflix original Klaus is an animated film that was released in 2019. It is beautifully animated and fun for all.
Klaus tells an alternate origin story of Santa. This version is set in the 19th century, where a Jesper, son of the Royal Postmaster General, is sent off to a training academy to reform his lazy, spoiled ways. He moves to the island town of Smeerensburg, where he befriends a toymaker named Klaus.
This movie has the voice talents of Jason Schwartzman, J. K. Simmons, Rashida Jones, Will Sasso, Neda Margrethe Labba, Sergio Pablos, Norm Macdonald (in his final film role), and Joan Cusack.
The Christmas Chronicles 1 and 2
The Christmas Chronicles consists of two movies directed by Clay Kaytis, produced by Chris Columbus, with a screenplay written by Matt Lieberman.
The first film follows a brother and sister who plan to catch Santa in the act of delivering their presents on Christmas Eve. They stow away in Santa’s sleight and embark on the adventure of a lifetime.
The sequel takes place two years later, and the sister from the previous movie is now a cynical teen. Her family is spending Christmas in Cancun with her mother’s new boyfriend and his son. Unhappy with the current family dynamic, she decides to run away. When news comes that a threat named Belsnickel is set to destroy the North Pole and Christmas, she heads on a new adventure with her old friend Santa.
Both movies are wonderfully done, and Kurt Russel makes a fabulous Santa!
Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey

Jeronicus Jangle is an inventor and toymaker whose creations are full of whimsy and wonder. When his trusted appetence steals away with his most prized creation, it will be up to the inventor’s grandaughter to help him find his way back to his creativity.

Unaccompanied Minors is a family Christmas comedy that the whole family can enjoy.
A Christmas blizzard shuts down an airport where several youths are traveling as unaccompanied minors. They are stuck at the airport and proceed to make the most of being left unaccompanied. Their antics cause distress for an uptight airport official and his gullible assistant.
This is a light-hearted fun Christmas movie.
Happy Holidays from Madagascar
Happy Holidays from Madagascar is one volume of stories that sees everyone’s favorite animals during Valentine’s Day and two Christmas stories.
The penguins are featured in “Madagascar Penguins in a Christmas Caper,” and Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman meet Satna in “Merry Madagascar.”
The original voice actors reunite for these wild holiday stories. Also, check out Dreamworks Holiday Classics, which feature the above Christmas stories and have an additional two stories. One features Hiccup and Toothless from How to Train Your Dragan and Shrek and Donkey from the Shrek movies.
Alien Xmas
The stop motion Christmas movie Alien Xmas is a Netflix original film based on a book of the same name by Chiodo and Jim Strain.
An alien known as X is sent to planet earth to steal all of the earthling’s “stuff.” X lands in Christmas Town, home of Santa Clause on Christmas eve. As X sets out to complete his mission of stealing the stuff and eliminating the Earth’s gravity, X is mistaken for a toy by Obie, one of Santa’s elves. Obie gives X to his daughter as a gift, and she teaches him compassion which then changes his plans for his mission.
Christmas Break-in
Christmas Break-in is a feel-good family movie starring Danny Glover and Denise Richards.
A young girl gets stranded at school when her over-committed parents don’t prioritize picking her up after school the day before the holiday break. While she waits, a blizzard hits, which makes it more difficult for her parents to pick her up. A trio of bad guys decides to hide out in the school, knowing the school will be empty for the holidays. The custodian was still in the school, so they kidnapped him. This means Izzy will need to fight the bad guys Kevin McCallister style.
A Boy Called Christmas
A Boy Called Christmas is a 2021 holiday release on Netflix. This story follows a boy named Nickolas, so named as he was born on Christmas, as he embarks on a journey of a lifetime.
Nickolas is accompanied by a talking mouse, Miika and a magical reindeer, Blitzen, as he heads to discover the town of Elfhelm. The King has charged his citizens to seek out some magic to bring hope back to their kingdom.
This film has a fantastic cast that consists of Jim Broadbent, Maggie Smith, Kristen Wiig, Stephen Merchant, Sally Hawkins, Michiel Huisman, Zoey Colletti, Toby Jones, Henry Lawfull, Rune Temte, Indica Watson, and Rishi Kuppa.
Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You
Based on Mariah Carey’s famous Christmas song and a book by Carey that Colleen Madden illustrates, Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You is another new holiday movie for 2021.
This movie is the animate tale of little Mariah, who longs for a puppy for Christmas. It is beautifully animated, and the story will get everyone in the holiday spirit.
Carey serves as the narrator, and other voice talents include Breanna Yde, Henry Winkler, Phil Morris, Lacey Chabert, and Charlie Adler.
