You season 3: Is (SPOILER) really dead in You?

How are we doing You fam? I ask because season 3 definitely was not for the faint of heart and was quite an emotional rollercoaster, but if you’ve already finished your binge-watch you know what I mean.

Heading into the third season of You, we fully anticipated the show would once again keep us on our toes and deliver some shocking moments. What we weren’t quite prepared for was to see the season end with the death of one of the show’s biggest characters.

This is it, the last chance to turn around before we drop the mother of all You season 3 spoilers.

All season long, it was clear Love and Joe’s relationship wasn’t showing more and more cracks in its foundation as the season progressed. Sure the pair tried couple’s therapy, but by the time they made it into their first session that ship has already begun to sail. Clearly, the season was building towards an epic showdown between the pair and, given both characters’ histories, it was clear things wouldn’t end well for either party.

Although it looked like Love might get the upper hand and pull a fast one on Joe, Joe was one step ahead of Love, having picked up on the subtle hints that she was planning something sinister.

After Love attempted to kill Joe, he turned the tables on her and ended her life in the season 3 finale. However, this is You we’re talking about and season 3 was filled with fakeouts so is it possible Love survived the ordeal?

Is Love really dead in You season 3?

While we’d love to report that the stories of Love’s death have been gravely exaggerated, it seems Love has truly died at the hands of Joe and has sung her swan song. In the season 3 finale, Joe injects love with a fatal dose of aconite which stops her heart and he then covers his tracks by leaving her body behind in their house which he sets on fire before making his getaway.

Will Love be in You season 4?

Considering that Love was killed in the season 3 finale, it seems likely we’ve seen the last of Love but this being You it is possible the writers could find a way to bring the character back in season 4 via a variety of methods.

Through its first three seasons, You has frequently utilized flashbacks to revisit moments in Joe’s past so it’s possible Victoria Pedretti could reprise her role in season 4 via flashback sequences. It’s also possible Love could come back to haunt Joe in season 4, thus allowing the writers to bring Pedretti back for more episodes.

Of course, we’ll have to wait until You season 4 to know for certain whether Love will appear in any way, but it does appear we’ve seen the last of her in the land of the living.
