Did Bridgerton win the Emmy for Best Drama in 2021?

Bridgerton is one of the best Netflix shows of all time. The Netflix original series was a major hit when it premiered on Netflix in 2020.

Despite some scathing reviews, the show did garner positive attention for its diversity, and the author, Julia Quinn, on whose novels the series are based on, has lauded the decision as well.

The nomination for Outstanding Drama 2021 comes as no surprise to anyone who has been keeping track of Bridgerton‘s roaring success.

Did Bridgerton win the Emmy for Best Drama in 2021?

For the 73rd Prime Time Emmy Awards, Bridgerton is up against the new series by Eric Kripke of Supernatural fame, The Boys, the controversial British royal series The Crown, and among others, The Handmaid’s Tale, Lovecraft Country, The Mandalorian, Pose and This Is Us. The competition was, of course, super-tight with all the nominated shows having been some of the most talked about, and unfortunately for the fans, Bridgerton did not win Best Drama.

The award going to The Crown was indeed well deserved, and while this might come as a disappointment for the show’s fans, the show did in fact win an Emmy for Outstanding Period And/Or Character Hairstyling – 2021.

However, this is not the end of course, as the series is set to get a second season, with a whole new love story of its own for Anthony Bridgerton, with a new character as his love interest. Most of the cast was absent at the awards ceremony due to filming for the second season.

Bridgerton season 2 is coming to Netflix very soon. We want to see it in 2021, but it’ll probably be one of the best Netflix shows coming in 2022.
