Buy the Julia Quinn books that inspired Bridgerton on Netflix

Based on the novels by Julia Quinn, Bridgerton premiered on Netflix on December 25. Narrated by none other than Dame Julie Andrews, the period drama is produced by Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes.

Bridgerton is set during the Regency era in London and follows several young members of the upper class as they are presented at court, marking their integration into high society.

While I was watching the first few episodes, I noticed something really cool. In scenes where characters are attending a lively soiree with music, often times the classical arrangements are actually well-disguised modern pop tunes like “thank u, next” by Ariana Grande and “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5. Most of the songs were covered by a group called Vitamin String Quartet.
