If there’s one thing we can all agree on in this world, it’s that Hilary Duff is an icon, a legend and will always be the moment. But if you happen to not agree with that, then you probably won’t be excited about the news of A Cinderella Story returning to Netflix in September.

Hilary Duff, known as the early 2000s Disney Channel queen from the show Lizzie McGuire and other movies, stars in the 2004 romantic comedy alongside One Tree Hill star Chad Michael Murray. Obviously, we’re still obsessed with both of these amazing talents.

The reimagining of Cinderella finds Duff’s Sam Montgomery, who ends up in the care of her greedy stepmother Fiona (Jennifer Coolidge) following her father’s untimely death. Sam isn’t particularly popular at school, but she courts the biggest heartthrob in school through online anonymity.

Even though A Cinderella Story has often been available on Netflix at various point of time for varied amounts of time, the drought will soon be over with a fall comeback. The fan-favorite rom-com comes back to Netflix on Sept. 1, 2021.

Is A Cinderella Story on Netflix?

As of Sept. 1, you will once again be able to watch Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray fall in love amidst the great odds of the high school social hierarchy and pretty demanding parents. A Cinderella Story will start streaming at the top of the month.

While you can start adding the movie to your watch list on the first of September, the early aughts favorite will be available at 12:01 a.m. PT and 3:01 a.m. ET for any night owls who want to scratch their nostalgia itch right away.

Of course, the movie spawned a number of direct-to-video and TV sequels starring the likes of Selena Gomez, Lucy Hale and Sofia Carson. The only sequel available on Netflix is A Cinderella Story: A Christmas Wish starring Laura Marano.

But if you’re looking for more early 2000s nostalgic picks to add to your watch list, don’t forget to check out What a Girl Wants, The Prince & Me and The Girl Next Door. That’s quite the movie night lineup to enjoy before Netflix kicks it up a notch with originals later this year!
