Just when you were looking for a film that will put you on a thrill ride, The Protégé comes along and takes up all of your attention. You’ve watched The Losers and The Vault and enjoyed all the intense fight sequences, explosions, twists and turns, and you want to find a film that keeps that same energy. Well, The Protégé seems to meet your criteria, so can you watch this movie on Netflix?

The Protégé is an action thriller movie starring Maggie Q, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Patrick and many more talented actors. It’s about a high-profile assassin (Maggie Q) who vows revenge on her mentor’s killer (Michael Keaton). While on her journey, she meets a person from her past that helps her find the killer and avenge her mentor’s death (Samuel L. Jackson).

We’ve all seen Maggie Q in action taking down the Division organization in Nikita, and Samuel L. Jackson has plenty of films showing his physical abilities. So we’re looking at a good set-up if you ask me.

Is The Protégé on Netflix?

I hate to break it to you, but The Protégé is not on Netflix, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be coming to the streaming platform any time soon. In fact, the action-thriller hasn’t come out yet. It’s okay, though. There are other action-thriller films you can watch now on the streamer, such as the Netflix movie Extraction or Ava.

Where can you watch The Protégé?

The Protégé comes out in theaters this Friday, Aug. 20. Currently, there are no plans for a streaming service release, but if we had to guess, we’d say The Protégé will be released on Hulu or STARZ.

Hulu has a deal with Lionsgate (The Protégé is a Lionsgate film), where some of Lionsgate’s films go straight to the platform after their theater run. However, this deal expires at the end of 2021. But there’s still a possibility that we’ll see the movie’s release on Hulu sometime this year.

If it doesn’t get released on Hulu, it may possibly be released on STARZ because Lionsgate owns STARZ, and Lionsgate is looking to make STARZ their new streaming home.

For now, you’ll just have to take a trip to the movie theater with your friends or loved ones and watch this hair-raising film.
