When Netflix released The Losers on their streaming platform on Aug. 1, it only took a day for it to make the Top 10 list. It quickly rose to the number three position on the overall list and number one on the movies section. It’s currently still holding the number one spot on the movie section of Netflix!

Why is this movie creating so much buzz, you ask? Well, we all love a good action film, and this film stars an impressive ensemble cast.

Another factor that plays a part in why The Losers is so popular is that a lot of people forgot about this film, and it’s like a distant memory that many want to revisit.

Now that you’ve seen me speak so highly of this action-packed film, you’re probably curious to know what The Losers is. Don’t worry. We’re going to get you raving about this film like everyone else!

What is The Losers about?

The Losers is an action film that came out in theaters in 2010 and is now streaming on Netflix. The film is an adaptation of the Vertigo comic book series titled the same name. The Losers is about a team of elite United States Special Forces members (Clay, Roque, Pooch, Jensen and Cougar) sent out on a search-and-destroy mission in Bolivia. They are tasked with taking down a drug lord, but the mission changes when they find out that kids are in the vicinity of the enemy.

The operatives try to stop the attack by calling on their boss Max (Jason Patric), but to no avail, they’re forced to take matters into their own hands, rescue the children and take down the drug lord. A helicopter is then sent to pick up the operatives and bring them back to the U.S. But Max, afraid that the group knows his true plan, orders the helicopter to be destroyed.

The team is then made aware that their superior has an ulterior motive, so they fake their deaths. Stranded in Bolivia with no possible way to get back to the United States, the members try to figure out a solution.

However, it takes four months for something to finally happen. The team’s leader Clay (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is approached by a mysterious woman named Aisha (Zoe Saldana) and is offered the opportunity to take down Max and get back to the U.S.

This sounds like the perfect opportunity, but can the operatives trust Aisha? When the team returns to the United States, more drama ensues and it becomes a question of who can you really trust?

If you enjoy films that keep up a good pace, momentum and are entertaining to watch, be sure to check out The Losers on Netflix. You’re going to want to see this elite squad go undercover to seek revenge on the one who betrayed them!
