What’s next in Outer Banks season 3?

Will Cleo stay with the Pogues in Outer Banks season 3?

It sure sounds like it! In an interview with Variety, co-creator Josh Pate had some very interesting thoughts on Cleo (Carlacia Grant) sticking with the Pogues in Outer Banks season 3.

We shared Pate’s comment below, via Variety:

"Regarding whether she’s going to be part of the Pogues, the answer is yes.. We wanted to expand her opportunities not so much in Season 2, but going forward with Season 3 — and we especially wanted to expand upon the opportunities of teen romance within the group. John B. and Sarah are kind of spoken for, and Pope and Kiara have kind of run their course."

So, yes, Cleo is a Pogue for Life now! #P4L

This is so awesome. It opens up so many possibilities for this story, and it introduces another perspective to cause a bit of conflict among Pogues. They don’t have the same motivations anymore, for the most part.

There’s also some opportunity for romance with one of the Pogues, and we’ll get to that in a minute!

More interesting, though, Cleo has resources and skills. She knows people who can help Pope and John B and Sarah get revenge, and she has the skills to make it happen. I’m so excited to see what happens with this part of the story.

Will John B learn his dad is alive in Outer Banks season 3?

He better! At the end of Outer Banks season 2, fans were shocked and stunned to learn that Big John, aka John B’s father, is actually still alive. He’s been “half-dead for a long time,” according to someone who is helping him out when Limbrey visits.

Obviously, this opens up this world, expands the mystery of the gold and Denmark Tanny, and spins this story into a whole new realm. Big John, Limbrey and Ward were not the only people looking for the gold on the Royal Merchant after all. And, it looks like this hunt for the gold, the Cross, the Shroud, and possibly more treasure goes a lot deeper than any of us could have expected.

At the center of this story is Big John. I hope we see John B and Big John reunite in season 3. It appears Big John has been somehow keeping tabs on his son for a while now.
