OBX season 2 has finally reunited fans with the Pogues! We’re diving back into this twisty, treasure hunting tale full of danger, romance, and murder. Of course, this means we’re in for a Pogue reunion.

Last season left off with John B. and Sarah being presumed dead by the Outer Banks community. The couple drove their boat right into a storm, capsizing it and sending the pair adrift. Luckily, a ship headed for Nassau, Bahamas picked them up, putting them back on the trail of the Royal Merchant gold.

Spoilers ahead for Outer Banks season 2

Kie, Pope, and JJ, however, weren’t aware the two had survived, so season 2 opens with the trio grieving. Fortunately, they’re not grieving for long because John B. wastes no time informing his best friends that he and Sarah are okay.

But, how do the Pogues eventually end up reuniting? Well, the story is as heartwarming as the trio learning John B. and Sarah had survived.

OBX season 2: A Pogue reunion in Charleston, South Carolina

In an amazing twist of fate, the Pogues run into each other in Charleston, South Carolina while they’re on separate missions.

Pope, Kie, and JJ have made the 8 hour trip from their home because of Limbrey’s letter to Pope. She’d told him to come alone but meeting a stranger in a city you’re not familiar with about a topic like treasure isn’t a smart move. Hence a Pogue road trip.

Sarah and John B. landed on the shores of Charleston after their boat ran out of gas. They were only supposed to be making a quick pit stop to get gas and find some food but, of course, they got themselves in trouble while doing so. Sarah had slipped cash from a rude restaurant patron who’d caught onto her scheme minutes after the money was gone. Cue a chase through the city.

Literally blocks away, the rest of the Pogues were also running away from a sticky situation. Pope’s meeting with Limbrey went left rather quickly when she didn’t believe that he not only didn’t have the key she was looking for but also didn’t know what she was talking about.

After an uncomfortable walk around her family’s centuries old house that includes slave quarters, Pope made his escape when her minion Renfield was sent to go after him. As the Pogues are running for their lives, they end up crossing paths.

John B. and Sarah, who’d stolen a bike carriage, end up providing the getaway vehicle for them all as their separate pursuers lose them. It’s a very Pogue reunion as they excitedly talk among themselves, give John B. grief for not peddling fast enough, and happily make their way to the boat that’ll take them back to OBX.

Truly there could not have been a better reunion for this group of friends especially because Charleston, South Carolina is the actual filming location of Outer Banks. Click through to the next page to learn why the series isn’t filmed in North Carolina.
