Does JJ die in Outer Banks season 2?

Treasure hunting is dangerous. If you thought the first season of the Pogues story was perilous than you’re in for more close calls in Outer Banks season 2.

The death toll for those looking to claim the Royal Merchant gold is steadily stacking up, and now that there’s another treasure in play things certainly take a turn for the worst.

Spoilers for Outer Banks season 2 ahead

Our Pogues are fighting two fronts. The Camerons and their greed which allowed Ward to pull the gold right from under them in season 1. And a Limbrey’s claim to a legendary cross that has a close connection to Pope’s family and the founder of Tanney Hill, Denmark Tanney.

Not to mention smugglers and hired sailors who don’t take kindly to the Pogues’ presence on their ship. The season 2 finale puts all of their lives in danger, but it’s JJ whose life hangs in the balance.

Does JJ get killed in Outer Banks season 2?

In an altercation with the ship’s captain he ends up taking the blunt end of a machete to the head. The force of the hit tips him overboard, and Kie has to jump in the water to save him after she handles the captain.

The two are bobbing in the ocean with Kie clutching an unconscious JJ until the rest of the Pogues pull them onto the boat Sarah stole to escape. It’s touch and go for a moment with Kie slapping on his chest and begging for him to wake up but thankfully JJ does.

He survives season 2, and he has a potential surf trip booked with Kie if the Pogues are ever able to cash in on the two treasures they’ve found. They’re empty handed once again as well as stranded on an island but anything is possible.
