Lucifer is the most popular show on Netflix at the end of May and the beginning of June 2021. Everyone just watched the second half of season 5.

Of course, we all want to know if Lucifer season 6 is happening and when it’s coming to Netflix.

Below, we shared everything you need to know about Lucifer season 6 release date on Netflix.

Is Lucifer canceled?

Lucifer is not canceled on Netflix! Originally, Lucifer season 5 was supposed to be the final season of the series. It was going to be a 10-episode season to wrap up all the loose ends to this story.

Instead, some things happened. Netflix added six more episodes to season 5, bringing the total to 16 episodes. Netflix also split the season into two parts.

Is Lucifer season 6 renewed?

Yes! Lucifer season 6 is officially happening at Netflix! The streaming network announced the news before the premiere of season 5 part 1 back in August 2020.

Lucifer season 6 will be the final season of the Netflix original series. It consists of 10 episodes.

Lucifer season 6 release date on Netflix

Nothing has been announced about the Lucifer season 6 release date on Netflix. Some fans are expecting the new season in 2021. We’re not convinced that will happen, but it’s still very early in the process.

On a recent episode of Word Balloon, Joe Henderson said that he wasn’t sure when Lucifer season 6 would be released, but he also said he didn’t think Netflix wouldn’t make fans wait too long into 2022 to see the season.

Here’s what Henderson said:

"“If it does push, I don’t think it will push too far into the next year. I don’t think they’ll string it out too long, but I also just don’t know, so don’t quote me on that.”"

Based on how things have gone in the past, I can’t imagine that Lucifer season 6 would be released later this year. Netflix usually makes fans wait about a year between seasons, so early 2022 seems like a much more likely release window for the final season.

Netflix has a bunch of big shows and movies coming later this year. While Lucifer would be a welcome addition to the bunch, we want the series to get a better ending than that, crammed in between a bunch of holiday movies and blockbuster movies and shows on Netflix.

So, that’s why we’re thinking Lucifer season 6 will be released in 2022. I would love to see the season sometime this fall or winter, but it’s much more likely that Netflix spaces out the end of the fifth season and the sixth season.

The more fans who have a chance to discover the series between now and then, the better!
