Lucifer is officially getting a sixth season on Netflix

It was previously reported that Netflix was in talks to bring Lucifer back for season 6 and not just season 5. Now, these reports can officially (and finally) be confirmed as Netflix has greenlit Lucifer season 6!

What an amazing time it is, Lucifans! On the heels of announcing the premiere date for season 5, we get a season 6 renewal! Imagine already getting used to the idea that Lucifer season 5 would be the last chapter for Lucifer Morningstar and Chloe Decker, only to receive news that there’s more to come. Needless to say, we are overjoyed and can’t wait to see what’s ahead.

Lucifer has been to hell and back, to say the least. The drama first premiered on Fox but was canceled after three seasons. Netflix swooped in to save the series, giving it a fourth and fifth season, which was initially reported to be the final one. Fans were thankful to Netflix for at least giving the show more life, but disappointed that season 5 would be the last.

Netflix and the crew tried to meet fans halfway. First, by ordering more episodes for season 5 and then by splitting the series in two, Part A and Part B. I suppose this way would have sort of felt like two seasons, so we settled. TV Line shocked us all when they surfaced reports about how Netflix was in talks to renew the series for season 6.

Will Lucifer season 6 really be the show’s final season on Netflix?

We tried to be cautiously optimistic after those reports, but we couldn’t help but feel excited! Now, in a miraculous move, the streaming titan has made our wishes come true by officially announcing a sixth season.

With Lucifer being the devil and all, six seasons makes a lot of sense! Not to mention, this way no storylines are rushed or skipped. The cast and crew can take their time wrapping all of the stories to satisfy both the characters and fans.

But why stop there? Fans have proven time and time again by making Lucifer the most-watched series on Netflix that we can’t get enough. I certainly wouldn’t be against even more seasons.

How do you feel about the news? Were you surprised? Let us know what you are looking forward to the most!
