Teen movies on Netflix: Stand by Me
It’s been almost 35 years since Stand by Me, a coming-of-age story based on the novella The Body by Stephen King, hit theaters in August 1986. The film stars Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, and Jerry O’Connell as a band of friends in search of a missing boy’s body.
Gordie Lachance, a 12-year-old who feels neglected and unseen by his parents since the death of his brother Denny, convinces his friends to traverse the Oregon woods to find this missing boy. Along the way, they learn about themselves, their friendship, and how far they’ll go to make something right.
Stand by Me will be available to stream on June 1.
Teen movies on Netflix: Abduction
Time certainly flies. Abduction starring Taylor Lautner and Lily Collins came out nearly a decade ago in September 2011. The action thriller pits Lautner’s Nathan Harper against a shadowy organization after the murder of his parents…or should we say his guardians?
Their deaths usher in a wave of questions revolving around who he actually is as Nathan has recently found out his life has been a lie. Unfortunately, in the worst turn of events ever, his project partner Karen Murphy gets dragged into the mix by virtue of bearing witness to the mayhem.
Now forced to run for their lives, the two must play a dangerous game of cat and mouse to get the answers Nathan so desperately wants and keep Karen safe.
Abduction will be available to stream on June 1.
