When you hear about a story by Stephen King, you generally think of his horror, sci-fi and supernatural works. But one of his shorter stories, The Body, is a coming-of-age story that branches away from what’s become his norm. The title of the film, Stand By Me, is derived from the Ben E. King song of the same name that is the film’s theme song.
Stand By Me is a movie that received praise from critics and is thought of as one of the best movies of the 80s. It is a heartfelt look at the time in a young man’s life where he is straddled between childhood and adulthood.
