Lucifer season 5 part 2 is finally here and what a crazy ride the season’s new episodes are! Picking up immediately where we last left off in the season 5A finale, God makes his way to Earth and his arrival seems to set off quite a domino effect that plays out across the eight episodes.

** Warning: The following post contains spoilers from Lucifer season 5 part 2 **

Shortly after arriving on Earth, he reveals to his children that he’s looking to retire and, in doing so, sets the stage for what becomes an epic battle for power between Lucifer and Michael as each vies to be God’s successor.

Like most wars, the war between Lucifer and Michael was not without casualties.

Arguably, the season’s most shocking death came in episode 15 when Dan was abducted and killed by a dangerous criminal as part of a scheme we later would learn was orchestrated by Michael. As turned out, Michael arranged for Dan to be murdered in order to make Chloe feel so guilty she’d go to Hell due to the guilt felt for her role in Dan’s death.

While our hope was that Dan’s death was yet another fakeout and that he’d return in the finale, Dan’s death in the episode seems to be the real deal. So have we truly seen the last of Dan and is Kevin Alejandro actually leaving the show ahead of its final season?

Is Kevin Alejandro leaving Lucifer?

Whenever a character is killed off, that’s typically the end of the road for the actor or actress who plays them as the decision to kill a character off is usually connected to a star’s departure from a series. Because of this, it’s understandable for fans to be wondering if Kevin Alejandro is leaving Lucifer ahead of the show’s final season.

Although we’re still not quite over Dan’s death, there is a least some good news for fans of the character. As it turns out, we haven’t seen the last of Dan after all as Alejandro has confirmed he will be back in some capacity in season 6.

As Alejandro told Entertainment Tonight:

"“It’s definitely not the last you’re going to see of Dan. It could be through flashbacks, it could be through trying to decide what’s going on… I was on set a little bit in season 6, so he’s definitely coming back, just not the way everyone thinks he’s coming back.”"

So there we have it! While it’s unclear how exactly Dan will return, Alejandro is not leaving Lucifer and will be back for the show’s last season — which is something we can all celebrate as we couldn’t imagine not having at least a few more moments with Dan before the show comes to an end.

Lucifer season 5 part 2 is currently streaming on Netflix.
