Listen up, horror fans! A new thrilling story is heading to Netflix this week, and you likely won’t want to miss this one. If you’re a fan of Sex and the City icon Kristin Davis, this movie will pique your interest even more. Deadly Illusions is set to debut on March 18, and we’re here to get into what it’s all about.

The upcoming film was written and directed by Anna Elizabeth James, who you might know from titles such as Destined to Ride (2018), 7 from Etheria (2017), and Emma’s Chance (2016). Deadly Illusions seems to be a bit of a darker route for James, and we’re eager to see how it all plays out. Alongside Kristin Davis, the movie stars Dermot Mulroney (Prodigal Son), Greer Grammer (Awkward), and Shanola Hampton (Shameless). With a few famous faces on board, this thriller surely has potential.

And the plot doesn’t sound bad, either!

Deadly Illusions synopsis

Deadly Illusions follows a couple, Mary and Tom Morrison, who hire a babysitter to watch over their kids while Mary, a bestselling author, makes time to write her next work. The woman they employ, Grace, is a wonderful addition to the family at first, even getting along with Mary a little too well if the trailer tells us anything. Quickly, however, Mary realizes that Grace might not have the purest intentions, and could actually be a major threat to everyone around her.

The official synopsis from Kiss and Tell Productions reads:

"A bestselling female novelist Mary Morrison (Kristin Davis), suffering from writer’s block, hires an innocent yet beautiful caregiver Grace (Greer Grammer) to watch over her children as she dangerously indulges into the fantasies of her new best seller. Everything changes when Mary becomes spellbound by Grace who soon becomes her muse. As their relationship blossoms, the line between the life she’s writing and the one she’s living becomes blurred."
